About the Centre
Over 30 years ago the Al-Anon Family Groups UK & Eire meetings located in the Republic of Ireland together established the Information Centre to support the families and friends of those affected by the drinking of others.
The service has grown to become the Al-Anon Information Service with a national Helpline (01) 873 26 99 operated by volunteer members around the country, the website www.alanon.ie and a central office and bookstore in Dublin staffed entirely by volunteer members.
The members, groups and regional areas are the primary source of local and regional public information activities. The Al-Anon Information Service helps to coordinate public information activity at the national level.
The purpose of public information is to explain who we are, what we do, why we do it and how we do it. We want to let as many people as possible know that we are available if and when help is needed.
